At VSP we strive to do our job at a certain level in line with the company standards. Today we all live in a digital environment, and this implies the necessity of handy relevant operational tools—a computer, a telephone, a tablet etc. Which way is the VSP operational infrastructure organized, why have we chosen the hardware by one certain supplier and operate in a corresponding single ecosystem; which Yandex services does the company apply in its operation; who is the keeper of our most valuable asset—systemized data on our customers…? This is a short overview on how we operate at VSP.
Like any healthy company we aim at making our work procedures as efficient as possible. The budget is limited as a rule, and the resources available should be used most efficiently. Based on these main principles in the first place, we have chosen technical solutions by one single manufacturer to build the VSP IT-infrastructure.
‘The main task of VSP specialists is to provide the customer with a verified technical solution in terms of each individual project along the business lines of the company…’— this way we answer when asked about the VSP specialization. We just have no time to deal with failures in software, computers or telephones. We need to focus at the essence of our obligations and provide the customer with the best service we can offer—to give a prompt and competent answer to a question, irrelevant of the location of a VSP specialist at the time—in the office, on the road on a business trip or working remote. We just want them—our tools—simply to work for us. Such a level of solutions and services we are getting with the products of the manufacturer we have chosen. No less important is the characteristic of a life cycle of the product, as well as time and money required to support the efficient operation of the product. It is important that we would use our office equipment for as long as possible and with no regular servicing and repairs. For example, one of the notebooks used by a VSP specialist was purchased over 8 years ago. Early 2022 we upgraded all the office equipment and count there won’t be any need for the next upgrade soon. It is especially important for us to follow rules and regulations allowing for efficient use of computer equipment—in 2022 the company adopted Lean Operations Rules into its practice.
In the daily working practice the company aligns with the following principles aimed at minimizing the impact on the environment, on compliance with the principles and spirit of the rules of lean operations.
(1) In its operation the Company gives preference to equipment and working tools designed for the longest possible service life.
(2) Upon the failure of equipment and/or devices, the company will make efforts to repair such an equipment / device, but not to purchase a new one to replace the failed.
(3) Equipment and / or working tools and devices which service life has expired will either be disposed of by the company through the appropriate specialized services, or will be passed over on a free or reimbursable basis to organizations and enterprises providing for further operation of such devices, partially or in-full.
It is of no less importance that hardware and software, various tools—computers, telephones and tablets—would constitute part of one ecosystem. So, it just takes a second to join the display in a meeting room and share with colleagues your ideas or demonstrate the customer let us say some specific features of a new range of cryogenic valves; or scan a document with your phone in a hotel, sign it with a digital signature and forward information to a colleague—scenarios could be various, there is something else which is important. To do all this, to professionally do one’s job, one doesn’t need to be good at settings at all. It just works out like a consistent, coordinated set.
We are active users of professional digital services provided by Yandex. For example, such Yandex services as corporate mail, calendar, Yandex cloud, WIKI corporate portal allowing to store knowledge and skills shared by our personnel, and finally Tracker—a tool for efficient interaction of the whole team which allows to assign tasks with deadlines and to log the history of a multistep program.
To automate our working processes, to work on projects, in which VSP is involved, we use 1C Complex Automation system. It is with this system that we carry on all the main work from logging a customer’s enquiry and all the details on the project, including the contact data and up to tasks related to warranty support.
The VSP employees can operate practically from anywhere in the world as all the company software is cloud-based. This is of special importance at times of all possible limitations due to external circumstances.

We live in the fascinating time with technologies changing the whole concept of distance; when we can communicate, easily exchange information irrelevant of the place where we are; when digital tools allow us to do our job more efficiently, implying no need for any special knowledge from the administrator.
In the end, it is the user who wins, and in our case—the VSP customer, as the company specialists can provide the required information more comprehensively and promptly.
